What materials do you use? Is care complicated?

Accepted Answer

ZeroBench combines three exceptional materials: Bauroc — Estonian aerated concrete, made from pure local natural minerals (cement from Kunda, lime from Rakke, sand from Toolse). Bauroc is a stone with the best properties of wood — warm to the touch, breathable and lightweight, yet does not burn, rot or fear moisture. Highest indoor air safety certificate, allergen-free. UKU clay plaster — a natural breathable finishing material that regulates humidity naturally. Highest indoor air safety certificate. Novacolor — internationally recognised mineral decorative finish, with endless ways to create unique textures and design elements. In 2021, Novacolor received the RedCert2 certificate, meaning the factory produces the cleanest paints in the world. Wood finish — premium-class oil waxes (e.g. Saicos Premium Hardwax Oil), which bring out the natural beauty of wood while protecting it from daily wear and liquids. The product is suitable for finishing children's wooden toys.

Question 3

Is it made of concrete?

The bench itself is made of aerated concrete (Bauroc is a lightweight mineral material, not poured concrete). It is warm to the touch, breathable and has a high load-bearing capacity. Like any natural stone material, it does not tolerate strong impacts from sharp objects or falling from a height.

Use the bench for what it was made for — sitting and enjoying — and it will last for decades. Bauroc blocks are used to build the load-bearing walls of homes, so for everyday use the strength is more than sufficient.

How much does a ZeroBench entryway bench weigh and is it easy to move?

A ZeroBench entryway bench consists of three separate parts that assemble without tools. Each part weighs 5–12 kg, bringing the total weight to approximately 15–36 kg depending on the model. Thanks to the modular design, one person can easily lift and rearrange a ZeroBench, making it an ideal solution for both homes and rental apartments.

Is ZeroBench suitable for a garden or bonfire area?

No. ZeroBench benches are designed exclusively for indoor use. They fit perfectly in an entryway, bedroom, bathroom, or sauna anteroom, provided the bench does not come into contact with direct flowing water. Temporary higher humidity does not damage the materials. Facebook · Instagram

Which room does the ZeroBench bench fit best?

ZeroBench is designed first and foremost for the entryway as a quiet, sculptural element that greets every arrival with unwavering consistency. That said, ZeroBench also fits beautifully in: Bathroom. The mineral material tolerates humid air well, as long as direct water does not touch the surface. Sauna anteroom. A place to sit for a little while either before or after the sauna, in a room where temperature and humidity fluctuate. Bedroom. Why not at the foot of the bed — we also make longer benches for that purpose. Or beside the fireplace, where the fire-tender rests for a moment while waiting for the fire to gather strength. Hallway or corridor — a pleasant visual accent that softens long and narrow spaces. Short-term rental apartments and holiday homes, yoga studios, boutique spaces and elsewhere, where there is a need for a memorable handmade detail that elevates the guest experience. ZeroBench is not suitable for outdoor use, rain or direct water exposure.

Can the bench be made to my desired measurements?

Absolutely. We work with each client personally — let us know your wishes and in most cases we can create a solution that fits your space precisely. The standard dimensions have evolved to: Height 46 cm — optimal seating height (standard 45–50 cm), comfortable for putting on shoes Depth 32 cm — space-saving solution for a narrow entryway, yet sufficient for sitting Width 60 cm — comfortably fits one person (+ handbag, keys, phone) We always choose the dimensions together with you.

Each ZeroBench is handcrafted and the price depends on dimensions, materials and finish. How long does production take?

The typical lead time is 2–4 weeks from order confirmation and receipt of the deposit. The exact delivery time is agreed upon when placing the order and is stated in writing on the invoice.
